"Every house in the world has a mill that doesn't work properly." It was these 12 words that started the Crushgrind® revolution to create "THE WORLD'S BEST MILLS." In 1998 T&G launched Crushgrind® in the UK setting new standards in mill technology and design.
Since Peugeot launched their pepper grinder in 1842, salt and pepper mills have established themselves amongst the most popular and widely used of kitchen tools. More than 150 years later, the Peugeot mechanism was still recognised as the best in the world but technology was the same in 1992 as first produced in 1842 - until Crushgrind®.
T&G's Crushgrind® is like no other mill. Its unique ceramic mechanism allows you to effortlessly grind not only salt and pepper but also, using the same grinder, enjoy the vastly superior aroma and taste that only the milling of whole dried herbs and spices can provide.
Today T&G's award winning range of Crushgrind® Salt & Pepper Mills lead the market in terms of function, quality and design.
With over 50 Crushgrind® models to choose from, using superior materials such as crystal clear acrylic, FSC beech, brushed stainless steel, lightweight aluminium, soft touch santoprene and hevea. All have been exclusively designed by T&G, offering a wide combination of traditional and more radical designs.
Crushgrind® Beech mills use beech only from Europe's finest and greenest forests that have been independently verified by the Forest Stewardship Council. The criteria for FSC certification is backed by both the WWF and Friends of the Earth and the FSC trademark is shown in association with these products.
Today Crushgrind® is the UK's first choice, both in the hands of professionals, on Delia Smith's How to Cook, Food & Drink, Ready Steady Cook etc. and in homes everywhere.
Crushgrind® - the next generation
T&G's new range of Second Generation Crushgrind® mills have been conceived, designed and constructed to challenge the orthodox conception of what a mill should be. They have been recreated in exactly the same way as they left the designer's pen, no fudging, no compromises, no short cuts, just brilliant revolutionary designs that will change the world of milling forever.
Their uniqueness accentuates the clear advantages that lay at their very foundation - T&G's World beating Crushgrind® ceramic grinder. The fact that Crushgrind® mills require no central spindle opens up a World of new possibilities, brilliantly explored by these exclusively designed mills.
The materials chosen for their construction also make their own powerful image statement; soft-touch santoprene, crystal clear acrylic, lightweight aluminium, brushed stainless steel and FSC certified beech - handcrafted fro Europe's finest and greenest forests.
T&G's Crushgrind®'s ultra light, fully adjustable, hi-tech ceramic mechanism delivers unmatched levels of power and precision. It's unique ratcheted grinding system is both sharper and stronger than steel, will grind either salt or pepper and is Guaranteed for Life.
Never has a range of mills been launched that completely rewrites the rulebook for mill design, creating the perfect fusion between form and function.
Seeing really is Believing!
SPICE MILLS
Cooking today is an adventure fueled by international influences, it has moved from the bland to the exotic and herbs and spices have become a key feature in the transformation of the traditional British fare.
T&G's Crushgrind® Spice Mills provide the perfect solution, their unique ability to grind WHOLE DRIED herbs and spices re-creates that 'garden fresh' taste and aroma. They are also both easier and faster to use than a traditional 'pestle and mortar'.
T&G's Spice Bottle mills are fully adjustable and have been designed specifically for food preparation. The clever grinding unit screws onto the spice jar and can be easily removed when the jar needs refilling or changing. On the all black model, the clip on lid also serves as a screw cap for the spice jar.
Each spice mill comes with its own empty glass jar which can be filled with any whole dried herb & spice and effortlessly ground, indeed when multiple jars are purchased customers can create their own blends matched to their favourite recipes and store them for future use.
