Description

The Minosharp two stage water sharpener is designed specifically for use with Japanese knives, especially Global. The unique design consists of 'V' shaped ceramic rollers and a water reservoir. As the knife is pulled through the sharpener the guides hold it at the perfect angle, and the ceramic rollers sharpen the blade. As the ceramic rotates it picks up water from the reservoir creating a grinding paste which sharpens the knife perfectly.

The Minosharp knife sharpener includes both medium and fine grade ceramics which will allow you to put an edge back on the bluntest of knives and then polish them to a superb level of sharpness.

Please note: Japanese and European knives have a different angle on the blade, and therefore this is not suitable for European knives.

Replacement wheels are also available.

Insights

All knives (except serrated) will need sharpening, the frequency really depends on how often they are used and what they are used to cut. Regular light sharpening will keep the blade in tip top condition. The ultimate test is a ripe tomato, only a sharp knife will slice through the skin effortlessly.
With all pull through sharpeners, we recommend that you only pull towards you, this avoids a tendency to miss the very tip of the knife and end up with an uneven edge.
